Bad Weather Leads to Fatal Accidents in Texas

The number of reported fatalities in Texas due to recent bad weather has been increasing rapidly. There have been numerous fatal accidents where investigating authorities have indicated at least part of the fault lies with the road conditions based on poor weather.

Icy roads and sleet have been made some roads be very dangerous and particularly for those who are inexperienced in driving on ice. In addition, sometimes in the accidents were caused by hitting a patch of ice which was not expected on the roadway, such as on bridges and overpasses.

When the weather is bad if you must drive slowdown and use extra caution for your health and even your life may be on the line. A recent accident in Lamar County, Texas is a good example of the tragedy that may occur in poor traveling conditions. State troopers indicate a car slid into oncoming traffic and was struck by an 18 wheeler. One victim died and another was in serious condition in East Texas. My heart goes out to the victims families.

An accident can happen in the fraction of a second. And in that short period of time, families can be altered forever. There are two morals to this story, the first being please use extreme caution in poor conditions. The second being no one knows when their time has come, it can happen quickly–so hug your family and make today matter.
